  April's meeting will be at The Shop, a storage facility for car and motorcycle enthusiasts.  Founded in 2017, The Shop was created as a place for local gearheads to come together and build a shared passion for community, machinery, and amazing experiences. Amenities including reservable lifts and wash bays for DIY work, secure vehicle storage, and a private Service Department catering exclusively to Shop Members.

  We will meet in the private conference room at 6:00 PM with dinner and drinks on your own from the in-house Derby restaurant https://derbyrestaurants.com/seattle/menu/.  We will have a brief meeting to plan for Opening Day of Boating Season.  And then tour the facility at about 8:00 PM.  

  I have arranged this meeting with my friend Paul Durocher, who works at F.K. Kirsten Pipe and Cigar, located in The Shop building.  He has arranged for The Shop to waive their normal room rental fee and tour fees for our meeting.  Paul said that he would open the tobacco shop if anyone wanted to purchase cigars or pipe tobacco.

  Our annual Chowder Social is the Foss Waterway Seaport’s only in-person fundraising event and is open to guests ages 21 and over. Join us on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM for an evening celebrating Tacoma’s maritime heritage.

  Enjoy a hosted social hour, dinner featuring a variety of incredible donated chowders and salads, a silent auction, live auction, dessert dash, and raise the paddle, all in support of preserving the stories of our waterfront community.

  This year’s PNW-ACBS Opening Day SPIRIT CLASS Skit will be “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness,” a celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, featuring Members of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).
  

  The Skit:

  ● Ideally, 13 (one for each of the founding colonies) beautifully restored PNW-ACBS open-cockpit boats with SAR & DAR members in colonial costume

  ● PNW-ACBS skippers will be provided with tricorn hats to wear

  ● One boat will have SAR and PNW-ACBS members dressed and in position at the time of passing the Seattle Yacht Club officers as to mimic the signing of the Declaration of In dependence 

  • Plus 56 handmade 5’ quill pens, one for each of the original signers of The Declaration of Independence

  Speaking of boat decor, there will be a special prize for the best decorated PNW-ACBS Opening Day boat!

Visit the apple orchard and pick fresh apples to take home. Check out the salmon spawning. Take in the glorious fall color. Visit Carl at his organic farm for fresh dahlias, vegetables, and goat cheese.

  And, of course, it wouldn’t be a complete Stehekin experience without a visit to The Stehekin Bakery. Their pecan sticky buns are a MUST! However, their sandwiches, soups, and all the other baked goods are delicious.

  Launching will be available at the Mill Bay public launch in Manson - anytime - OR at the Lakeshore Marina at Don Morse Park on Friday, October 2nd from 9a to 4p, Saturday the 3rd before 9a ONLY, and on Sunday the 4th before 9a or after 2p.

  Please note that as guests of the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum, and for the safety of all boat owners and drivers, we must be flexible and collaborate on entering and exiting the Lakeshore Marina. Once again, boat show boats will be able to leave the Lakeshore Marina for runs on Lake Chelan or emergency exits during Mahogany & Merlot WITH PRIOR APPROVAL FROM PATRICK GLEASON (cell # will be on the back of boat show participant name badges).   ACBS members and guests will be trying something different this year by having our Saturday night dinner and awards ceremony in the warmth and comfort of the Casino. The entire restaurant will be ours! Carpooling will be encouraged.

  • Price has yet to be finalized (as of 3/13/2026) but it will be around $48-$50 per person, including 18% gratuity and will include a buffet of: green salad, broccoli salad, sauteed vegetables, rolls, chef carved prime rib with au jus and horseradish, shrimp stuffed salmon with lemon beurre blanc, loaded baked potatoes, assorted desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages
